The Hawaii Concussion Awareness and Management Program is holding two events, a community concussion workshop on Thursday and a Concussion Summit on Saturday.
Thursday’s workshop at the Farrington High auditorium begins at 6:30 p.m. and is free to the public.
Preregistration is required for those seeking a certificate of attendance.
HCAMP provides at least two clinics per year and this one will feature presenters Dr. Benjamin Chun of Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Rachel Coel of the Queen’s Center for Sports Medicine and Dr. Jennifer King of Kapiolani Orthopedic Associates. Topics include concussion recognition, return to play protocol, concussion management, return to learn and heat illness.

Dr. John Leddy of the University at Buffalo, an author of the new concussion consensus statement, is the featured speaker for Saturday’s Concussion Summit presented by the Queen’s Center for Sports Medicine and HCAMP at the Queen’s Conference Center.
The 7:30 a.m. event requires a $50 fee for Hawaii athletic trainers, $150 for physicians and $100 for other health care professionals.
