Firefighters rescue injured man found at Kipapa Gulch
Honolulu firefighters responded to an injured man in the Kipapa Gulch early today.
Shortly after 6 a.m. today, a bystander heard the man call for help. Honolulu Fire Spokesman Capt. David Jenkins said the bystander located the man, described to be in his 40s, in the Kipapa Gulch. The victim sustained severe injuries that are consistent with a fall of about 50 feet.
Firefighters located the man by 7 a.m. and airlifted him to a landing zone at 10 Acre Park in Mililani where Emergency Medical Services awaited his arrival. Paramedics transported him to a hospital in serious condition.
Jenkins said it’s unclear at this time how the man sustained his injuries.
