HPD searching for Moanalua restaurant robbery suspect

Police are looking for a male suspect who allegedly attempted to rob a fast food restaurant in Moanalua.

At about 2:40 a.m. today at Jack in the Box, police said the suspect clad in a jacket and mask walked up the drive-thru window. He brandished a handgun and demanded money from an employee.

Police were called and the suspect fled before officers arrived. No injuries were reported and nothing was taken from the restaurant.

A week ago, a male suspect robbed Jack in the Box at Stadium Mall, about two miles away from Moanalua, in a similar fashion. Just after 2:50 a.m. on June 28, the culprit dressed in a long-sleeved hoodie walked up to the drive-thru window and brandished what appeared to be a rifle at an employee.

Police said he fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

No arrests have been made in the Stadium Mall robbery.

It’s unknown at this time whether both robberies involve the same suspect.
