An Oahu grand jury indicted a 48-year-old Ewa Beach man for enticing by phone what he believed was a 14-year-old girl to meet for sex by phone, Attorney General Doug Chin announced.

Shane Taylor Neal was indicted for one count of first-degree electronic enticement of a child, a Class B felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison without the possibility of probation. Bail was set at $11,000 and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

The Department of the Attorney General said in a news release that Neal allegedly sent an online message under the name Lance Taylor on his cell phone to someone he believed was a 14-year-old girl named “Emily” for the purpose of sex.

When he arrived at the agreed upon time and place, he was arrested.

The indictment said Neal allegedly communicated with “Emily,” from about Nov. 28 to May 23.

The Hawaii Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in the Attorney General’s office investigated the crime, and the Department of the Attorney General is prosecuting the case.
