Season-ticket sales for the University of Hawaii women’s volleyball program’s first year under coach Robyn Ah Mow-Santos are underway.
Ah Mow-Santos leads the Rainbow Wahine program into the 2017 season following the retirement of Dave Shoji after 42 years as head coach. UH’s 19-match home schedule includes games against NCAA tournament participants UCLA, Marquette, San Diego, Utah, Baylor and BYU, along with the Big West slate.
UH went 23-6 last year and opens the season Aug. 25 against Marquette in the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational.
Tickets are available online at hawaiiathletics.com, at the Les Murakami Stadium box office (Monday to Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.) and by calling 956-4482.
Lower-level seats are $175 plus a premium seat contribution. Upper level seats range from $135 to $150 for adults, $110 to $125 for senior citizens and $75 to $90 for students (ages 4-high school).
>> The first of four four-day Rainbow Wahine volleyball camps starts Sunday and is open to boys and girls entering grades 4-12. The cost is $175 per camper. Participants will be grouped according to age and skill level (beginning, intermediate and advanced).
Camps are also scheduled for July 17-20, July 21-24 and July 25-28.

Moanalua alum Oda qualifies for U.S. Open
Moanalua graduate John Oda fired a 36-hole total of 11-under-par 132 on Monday in Newport Beach, Calif., to qualify for the U.S. Open.
Oda claimed medalist honors in the sectional qualifier to earn a spot in the 117th U.S. Open, set for June 15-18 in Erin Hills, Wis.
The UNLV senior shot a bogey-free 8-under 64 at Newport Beach Country Club and followed with a 4-under 68 at Big Canyon Country Club to finish atop the leaderboard while earning one of six berths available in the qualifier.
Oda helped the Rebels finish eighth in the NCAA tournament last week, placed eighth in the individual standings and was named a Ping first-team All-American. He also qualified for the Sony Open in Hawaii in January.
Alex Chiarella (1 under) and Garrett Okamura (10 over) of Maui and JoshuaRoland Defreitas of Waianae (2 over) came up short of qualifying. Lorens Chan and Tadd Fujikawa fell short in the Lakewood, Wash., qualifier.
Campbell’s Alo honored by Gatorade
Campbell catcher Jocelyn Alo was named the Gatorade Hawaii softball player of the year for the second consecutive season, Gatorade announced Monday.
Alo, a senior, batted .571 with 12 home runs, 27 RBIs and a 1.449 slugging percentage in leading the Sabers to the state Division I title.
The award recognizes outstanding athletic excellence, high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field.
Alo, who will play next season at Oklahoma, maintained a 3.82 GPA. She is now a finalist for the national award.
Weston-Webb drops final in Fiji
Kauai’s Tatiana Weston-Webb lost in the final of the Outerknown Fiji Women’s Pro on Sunday in Tavarua, Namotu, Fiji.
Weston-Webb lost to California’s Courtney Conlogue 8.74 to 5.53.
At the Outerknown Fiji Men’s Pro, also in Tavarua, Hawaii’s Sebastian Zietz posted an 18.43 — the highest second-round heat score — on Monday.
Zietz beat Brazil’s Bino Lopes, who scored a 9.53.
Hawaii’s Ezekiel Lau was eliminated by Australia’s Stuart Kennedy 10.74 to 9.10.
John John Florence, who won his first-round heat, will face Italy’s Leonardo Fioravanti in the third round, while Zietz will compete against Wiggolly Dantas of Brazil.
