Two arrested for counterfeit money, police say
Two men were arrested Saturday in separate incidents after trying to use counterfeit money, police said.
At about 12:15 a.m., a 20-year-old man tried to use a fake $20 bill at a restaurant in the Keeaumoku Street area, police said. Police responded and arrested the man for investigation of first-degree forgery. During his arrest, police found drugs and paraphernalia in his possession and booked him on suspicion of multiple drug offenses, police said.
Then at about 11:10 p.m., a 26-year-old man attempted to used a counterfeit bill to buy items from a Makaha store, police said. Officers were called and arrested the man for investigation of first-degree forgery.
