Exhibition encourages action on endangered species
The group exhibition the “Endangered Ark” at Ark of the Unicorns, 1109 Maunakea St. No. 203, celebrates Hawaii’s rare and extinct species and encourages community action in response to a national political climate that endangers conservation goals.
The participating artists are Nanci Amaka, Kirsten Carlson, Kayleigh Chalkowski, Deanna Gabiga, Ryan Schulz, Michelle Schwengel-Regala, Danya Weber and Tammy Yee. Visitors are invited to write why they value endangered species protections on postcards that will go up on a gallery wall and then be mailed to lawmakers after the closing party from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.
The exhibit is open 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 4 to 9 p.m. Friday. Visit fb.com/TheEndangeredArk for more information.
