Four food and drink concepts in The Street, a social hall with 12 new-to-Hawaii, chef-driven storefronts in the International Market Place, opened after a Hawaiian blessing Friday. The venue is the creation of award-winning chef Michael Mina, whose Mina Group also owns Stripsteak in the complex.
Serving customers Friday were Maui Onion Burger; Los Angeles-based Lamill Coffee; Indie Girl, offering healthful drinks, acai bowls and other treats; and a bar called Beer which also offers wine.
More so-called hawker stands will open daily until all are open on Friday. They include The Ramen Bar; International Smoke (barbecue); Aloha Ice shave ice and desserts by Michelle Karr-Ueoka of MW Restaurant; the Myna Bird tiki bar; Adam’s Nana Lu, serving New York-style Italian food; Kai Poke; Little Lafa (Middle Eastern); and Mindful Greens salads.
