Police opened an attempted-murder investigation Saturday after a 25-year-old man said he was cut multiple times with a machete in a downtown Honolulu attack.
The victim told police that three males assaulted him at about 8:50 p.m. Saturday. During the attack, one of the males pulled out a machete and began cutting him along his entire body, causing numerous injuries, police said.
The victim reported the incident at the hospital, where he was in stable condition.
Man charged with shooting ex-girlfriend
A 25-year-old man has been charged with shooting his ex-girlfriend in a drive-by shooting in Kalihi.
Dustin Ferrentino Raymond was charged Saturday night with second-degree attempted murder and several drug offenses. His bail was set at $250,000.
Police said that at about 12:30 a.m. Friday, Ferrentino Raymond pulled up in a Ford Explorer next to his 31-year-old ex-girlfriend as she was driving on Kalihi Street and fired several rounds at her.
The woman was hit in her left shoulder, and about three bullets pierced her driver’s-side door, police said. Paramedics took her in serious condition to a hospital.
Ferrentino Raymond fled and was arrested Friday night at Best Western The Plaza Hotel, 3253 N. Nimitz Highway. He is scheduled to appear in court today.
