Hawaii’s Cyd Okino made another cut in her second week on the Japan LPGA Step Up Tour. The Punahou graduate shot 73-75-75 in the Hanasaka Ladies Yanmar Tournament to tie for 32nd.
Okino won approximately $1,830 at Lake Biwa Country Club, in Shiga Prefecture. She has earned nearly $3,000 through two starts.
Okino shot 73 and is tied for 14th after the first round of this weekend’s Panasonic Open Ladies at Chiba Country Club.
Kalani graduate Nicole Sakamoto is the only player from Hawaii competing in this week’s Sara Bay Classic, a Symetra Tour stop in Sarasota, Fla. Sakamoto, who now lives in Florida, is making her second Symetra start of the year.
The top 10 on the Symetra Tour money list at the end of the season earn LPGA cards. Former Maui resident Kyung Kim is currently 15th, with $6,600. The Symetra rookie was fourth at the Gateway Classic.
Punahou alum Stephanie Kono is 21st, with two eighth-place finishes. Hilo’s Britney Yada, who missed the cut in last week’s LPGA Lotte Championship, has earned $1,354 in two Symetra starts.
