Honolulu lands No. 8 spot in Easter ranking
WalletHub ranks Honolulu as the eighth best city in America for celebrating Easter.
Analysts at the personal finance website compared the 100 most populated U.S. cities across four dimensions:
>> Easter observers (share of Christian population and churches per capita)
>> Easter traditions (brunch restaurants per capita, restaurant meal cost, candy and chocolate stores per capita, flower and gift shops per capita, and most caring city)
>> Kids’ Easter (share of children aged 8 and younger and Easter egg hunts per capita)
>> Easter weather

With our diverse population, Honolulu ranked 53rd for observers, but because we love candy and chocolate (No. 1 in that metric) and shopping for gifts and flowers (No. 3), and because we are a caring kind (No. 5), Honolulu claimed the top spot for Easter traditions.
Our keiki ranking was a respectable 19th, but shockingly, Honolulu was 55th in terms of weather, according to WalletHub — no doubt due to shady metrics that consider the optimal outdoor temperature for this time of year as a chilly-by-Hawaii-standards 70 degrees.
Considering all factors, St. Louis, Mo., was named the best place to celebrate Easter.
We know where we’d rather be.
