Hawaii’s Adam Fogel slid into second base before the tag of San Jose State’s Kyle Morrison in the third inning.
The University of Hawaii pounded 13 hits, including Adam Fogel’s towering two-run homer, to rout San Jose State, 14-1, and sweep the four-game series at Les Murakami Stadium.
Fogel, who had two hits in two official at-bats on Sunday, was 9-for-12 with eight RBIs during the series.
Jackson Rees mixed a wind-aided fastball with a cutter to mystify the Spartans. Rees allowed five hits in eight innings to improve to 3-0. He said a crossing wind created a breaking path to his fastball.
The ’Bows, who are 15-8, play Nevada in a four-game series beginning on Thursday night.
The Spartans fell to 9-14.
