Hawaii Pacific’s Chauncey Orr became the first played to garner All-America honors in the program’s Division II history, after he was named an honorable mention selection on Tuesday.
Orr also was named to the D2CCA All-West region first team, and the NABC All-West region first team. Orr helped lead HPU to its best regular season in school history at 26-2, as well as the program’s first PacWest Conference Tournament championship. Behind Orr, the Sharks also won their first game in the NCAA Division II Tournament. The Sharks finished the season 29-3, one win shy of tying the all-time school record set in 1992-93.
Orr was the PacWest Conference Tournament MVP, as well as an All-PacWest First team selection. He averaged 19.6 points and 7.8 rebounds a game, ranking fourth in the PacWest in scoring and fifth in rebounding. He was the only player in the conference to rank in the top five in both categories.

Cal Baptist sweeps HPU softball
The Hawaii Pacific softball team dropped both games in a doubleheader with conference leader California Baptist, falling 2-1 and 3-1 at Howard Okita Field.
The Sharks (12-10, 5-7 PacWest) had the lead early after an RBI single in the third by Sierra Dias, but surrendered a run in the sixth that tied the game, then allowed the go-ahead run on an RBI double by Krista Mann in the ninth.
In the second game, the Lancers (20-7, 14-2) jumped ahead early after getting runs in the third and fourth innings before Brazzlyn Tovio-Asato’s solo home run got HPU on the board. But the Sharks would get no closer, as Cal Baptist added another run in the sixth.
The Sharks will now head to California for a week-long road trip starting with a doubleheader with Dominican on Sunday.
