Police arrested a 39-year-old Kapolei man Tuesday morning for allegedly robbing the McDonald’s at the Laulani Village Shopping Center in Ewa Beach.
The man allegedly brandished an unspecified “dangerous instrument” and demanded money from a cashier between 6 and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Police arrested the suspect at 6:39 a.m. at the McDonald’s at 91-1051 Keaunui Drive on suspicion of first-degree robbery and for parole violation.
The man has a history of felony convictions, including second-degree robbery, car theft and terroristic threatening in 2002; first-degree burglary in 2001; and unauthorized entry into a dwelling and possession of a prohibited firearm in 2012.
Man killed in motorcycle crash is identified
A 34-year-old man who died in a solo motorcycle crash near Sandy Beach has been identified as Antonio Saunders of Honolulu.
Saunders died Sunday from blunt force injuries to the neck, according to the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office. The manner of death was classified as an accident.
Police said Saunders was operating a Honda motorcycle on Kalanianaole Highway when he failed to negotiate a turn. The motorcycle struck a guardrail, ejecting Saunders onto the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Saunders was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
