Zhang, Young designs featured at ‘East Meets West’
The Chinese Chamber of Commerce will showcase designs by Chinese designer Lilian Zhang and Hawaii designer Mae Young at its “East Meets West” Narcissus Fashion Show on April 2 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom.
Zhang established her couture evening gown label in 2008 and also has an upscale women’s ready-to-wear label called Diva & Music.
Young is known for merging Chinese, Hawaiian and Western aesthetics in her designs for men, women and children. Her collection can be found at Watumull’s and her showroom/factory in Iwilei.
Making a special appearance on the runway will be Nancy Kwan, best known for her roles in “The World of Suzie Wong” and “Flower Drum Song.”
Tickets are $75 per person for the event, which starts with boutique sales at 9:30 a.m. and lunch at noon before the fashion show begins at 1 p.m. For tickets, call 533-3181 or email info@chinesechamber.com.
