Sophomore opposite Stijn van Tilburg put down 17 kills with just one error, and No. 4 Hawaii swept No. 14 USC 25-20, 25-23, 25-23 in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Senior hitter Kupono Fey and sophomore hitter Brett Rosenmeier each added 10 kills as the Rainbow Warriors (17-2, 8-2) won their 12th straight. It was Hawaii’s 16th victory in a row at home dating back to last season, and the Warriors also ran their consecutive-sets-won streak to 23.

Senior hitter Lucas Yoder, leading the nation in kills at 4.91 kps, finished with 11 for the Trojans (6-10, 5-8). Sophomore hitter Gianluca Grasso added 10 kills.

Hawaii, the top blocking team in the country, had four, all coming in Set 3. Junior libero Tui Tuileta had 11 of the team’s 30 digs.

Only tonight’s match counts in the MPSF standings. Friday’s rematch will count in the overall records.
