Menlo (Calif.) College freshman Blaysen Terukina, a 2016 Kamehameha alumnus, went 3-0 with three consecutive decisions to win the NAIA West Regional title at 133 pounds on Sunday to qualify for the NAIA National Championships.
Terukina was the only Menlo wrestler to win his weight class and was one of six Oaks wrestlers to qualify for the national championships, which will take place in Topeka, Kan., on March 3-4.
He finished the regular season ranked 13th in the nation at 133 pounds with a 22-9 overall record.
He is one of six Terukinas to win a high school state championship in wrestling after brothers Zayren (Campbell) and Kysen (Kamehameha) took home titles at the Chevron/HHSAA State Wrestling Championships on Saturday at the Blaisdell Arena.
