The government should have no say in how you peacefully travel. We have individual sovereignty. A government can not tell me what to put in my veins or not. The government has no right to tell me who i sleep with or marry or how or when to live or give birth or procreate or how to practice love / life. Kanawai Mamalahoe ensures everyone’s ability and right to travel unimpeded, un-harassed, This is the first law of the Kingdom and enshrined in the fakeState constitution. Life is but a pathway that we meander. Impede my path then Hewa no make.
I am surprised they dared to give us this question after their editorial editorial which was intended to induce panic with absurd far-fetched argument against end of life aid. Except for religionist all people wish they had the same right a terminally ill animal has to be relieved from a life that is no life any longer.
How does enacting a law fit with ‘government should have no say’?

No harm then No foul. We should have the freedom to do what ever we want as long as we cause no harm.
Goes against Doctors oath to do no harm. May need to license “executioners”.
Nonsense, doctors who sustain life of terminally ill patients do the harm.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
A terminally ill patient may have a change of heart about how they have lived a bad life, repent, and therefore be in a state to pass across the river to eternity.

My understanding is that the bill to allow a terminally ill person the choice as to when to end their life is not going anywhere this session and will probably
not even reach a vote in either the House or Senate despite very strong public support. The forces wanting to keep the status quo will win again.
The medical industry have a huge financial incentive to keep things as they are. As in a lot of things nowadays it is all about the money.
Keeping a person alive as long as possible reaps the medical industrial complex huge profits especially since much of the cost is paid for by either
the government, insurance companies, and of course by the individual or the families.

I’m curious why there is no discussion on this subject of “death with dignity” from the Religious community? We have doctors, attorneys, patients, legislators, etc. and none from the Church. Have we lost the faith Community in Hawaii? Or, is it just this one issue of faith, life and death?
Doctors and the Legislatures, want to allow all terminal patients, to suffer extreme physical & emotional pain (24/7/365), become financially & emotionally bankrupt, and to die with no dignity (24/7/365 – fully loaded adult diapers.
