“Moana” star Auli‘i Cravalho will be able to utilize her appearance Friday with the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra as a warmup before flying off to Los Angeles to sing on a much bigger stage. She’ll perform the animated hit movie’s Oscar-nominated song, “How Far I’ll Go,” with Lin-Manuel Miranda when the awards show airs Feb. 26 on ABC.
Cravalho and Grammy Award-winning songwriter Miranda will be joined by fellow Grammy winners Sting, Justin Timberlake and John Legend, who are all scheduled to perform the songs nominated in the best original song category during the telecast hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
Timberlake will perform “Can’t Stop The Feeling” from the movie “Trolls,” while Sting will perform the Oscar-nominated song “The Empty Chair” from “Jim: The James Foley Story,” which he co-wrote with three-time Oscar nominee J. Ralph. Legend will play two songs: “Audition (The Fools Who Dream)” and “City of Stars,” both from “La La Land.”
