Hawaiian Airlines, pilots reach agreement in principle

Hawaiian Airlines and its pilots union have reached an agreement in principle on a contract after nearly two years of negotiations and more than a year in federal mediation.
The Air Line Pilots Association, which notified its members in an email Monday of the agreement, had been threatening to strike if no agreement was reached.
ALPA confirmed today it had reached an agreement but that further review was necessary before sending it out to its approximate 600 members for ratification.
“Both parties are currently confirming specific changes and completing remaining contract language,” ALPA said in a statement. “Once that is completed, pilot leaders will review and vote on whether to send the tentative agreement to Hawaiian Airlines pilots for possible member ratification.”

As if the prices aren’t high enough-expect to be a little bit higher when all is said and done.
Airfare going up big time to cover these raises. I agree that having a more efficient air carrier like Southwest would give Hawaiin a run for their money.
The pilots all agreed to take off early so the flights will be on time.
