Basketball ‘Bows rout UCSB
Noah Allen scored a career-high 34 points as host Hawaii ran away from UC Santa Barbara and cruised to a 78-56 win in a Big West basketball game Saturday.
The victory allowed UH to complete a five-game homestand with three wins, and improve to 3-4 in the Big West and 9-11 overall. UCSB is 1-6 and 3-16. A crowd announced at 5,498 at the Stan Sheriff Center saw Hawaii take control early in the first half and never threatened seriously in the second.
It was the Rainbow Warriors’ largest margin of victory in conference play this season, and overall since beating Hawaii Hilo 86-55 in November.
UH never trailed after Leland Green hit a 3-pointer to tie it at 10-all with 14:38 left in the first half, starting a 9-0 run that included two buckets by Ido Flaisher. Flaisher fouled out with eight points and seven rebounds.
Max Heidegger hit a 3-pointer for the Gauchos to make it 16-13, but then Allen made a turnaround 12-footer, and UH steadily built on the lead.
Heidegger scored 10 points to lead the Gauchos, who shot 29 percent from the floor in their fourth-consecutive loss.

So UH finally wins another home game against a team with 5 times as many losses as win, who is tied for last place in the conference, and the fans should be proud? Winning the battle of the garbage teams isn’t anything to be proud about especially since UH was 1st and 2nd place in Conference the past 2 years before the All Ganot recruits of this year.
If you are so disgusted just stop watching or following or posting. Either support or get off.
Why all the hate? What’s the history? There must be some history because you are bitter, bitter, bitter.
There you go again. I must say you are consistent with your negative rants. Your life must really suck. I hope you find peace and walk in the light.
His flashlight is not working.
I think Ganot has done a good job recruiting. With the NCAA looking at the prior program leaders, its hard to get players. He has done well and has coached them up pretty good. Give this program time to get moving.
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t, people will grumble about this team no matter what.
Not all people…just l0sers like Pacificsports!
Although the opponent isn’t that good based on the record, still a good win for the Bows. Nice crowd too.
I had UH and gave 20 points. Did I win?
Watched the game, good team building effort. This team was sorely overmatched but it gave UH opportunity to get some players in rhythm and build confidence.
