Daniel Woo scored a hat trick to help Pearl City clinch a boys soccer state-tournament berth after missing out last year with a 5-0 shutout of Castle in the OIA Division I consolation playoffs Wednesday at Kailua.
Ju Chan Lee and Rhyen Smith also scored for the Chargers (10-2-1), who will face Campbell in the fifth-place game at 5:30 p.m. on Friday at Kailua.
The Knights (5-6-2) have not made the state tournament since 2012, when they competed in Division II. Their last appearance at states as a Division I team was in 2008.
A semifinal doubleheader takes place tonight at Castle as Kaiser (10-0-1) plays Kapolei (9-0-2) in the first game at 5:30, and defending OIA champion Kalani (8-1-2) plays Mililani (10-0-1) in the nightcap. Those four teams have combined to win the last 15 OIA boys soccer titles (not including Division II).
Campbell 2, Kahuku 0
JP Dortrait and Claudio Dortrait each scored for the Sabers (9-4), who clinched their first state-tournament berth since 2013 with a win over the Red Raiders (7-3-3).
Kahuku failed to make the state tournament for a second straight year. Two years ago, the Red Raiders won an opening-round state tourney game against Baldwin before losing to Mililani in the quarterfinals.
Campbell recorded its second shutout in the playoffs and eighth overall this season.

Justin Ho, Ezra Williams and Khoa Nguyen all found the back of the net for the Governors (3-7-1), who advance to play Leilehua (5-5) in today’s first semifinal at 5:30 p.m. at Kailua.
Tyler Alabanza scored both goals for Na Alii, who finished 1-9-1.
Waianae 2, McKinley 1, OT
Tate Ebel scored both Seariders goals, including the second in overtime, to help Waianae (6-5) advance to the OIA Division II semifinals against host Kailua tonight at 7.
Payad Jadsopha scored the lone goal for the Tigers, who finished 1-9-4.
