Surely Mr. Zuckerberg knew about the embedded parcels when he purchased the land. He had the option of not purchasing or of trying to negotiate purchase by him of the parcels to occur when he purchased the land. Failing that, he had the option not to buy the land at all.
What’s that got to do with the question. If you buy a property there’s no law against buying the one next door later.
He’s buying these pieces of land not stealing them. What is the question?
The point is that he is going to court to try to buy the property,
Outsiders come to Hawai’i, because they like what they see, and feel.
Then the outsiders, want to change, and improve Hawai’i.
He should have known, through his local lawyers, that there might be a slight civil unrest uprising, because of his land acquisition.
He can live in Hawai’i, on his very large estate. When he leaves the confines of his estate, he can’t stop public criticism.
Exclusivity of real estate purchases in Hawaii cannot be guaranteed as the results of unrecorded land grants bestow by the sovereignty to certain families prior to annexation. His pursuit of privacy will be costly, but to billionaire of his wealth it is not a problem. “Money talks.. ” applies and wins every time.
Zukerberg doesn’t know what he has gotten himself into. Just wait until all the beneficiaries come out of the woodwork, there will surely be a few that won’t sell. This will take years, which is the norm, but if he gets these properties because of who he is, there will be lots of protests. He just better be sure that the people have access to the beach.
Coming to Kaua’i with billions. building walls around his compound which blocked his neighbors ocean views and trade-winds. Demanding to buy out anyone who owns land that would intrude on HIS privacy. Zuckerberg is not the right fit for Kaua’i.
I wish I was in the same position as Zuck. Would do the same exact thing if I had the dough.
Excellent decision by Mr. Zuckerberg to clear title to the land he purchased. All the Kueana properties, known and unknown, within his property can now be identified and a settlement can be made under the Court’s direction and approval.
I’m still wondering if there’s anything to the idea floated by the Washington Post that Mr. Zuckerberg is contemplating a run for the Presidency in 2020?

it’s Libertarded views not wanting to adhere to Laws so they question. If the SA did it’s research and claim it’s legal then what could one do but to cause commotion for a review. Change the Laws if you don’t like what’s written on paper, but for now it is what it is!
