Hawaii’s Allen named Big West player of the week
Hawaii basketball’s Noah Allen was named the Big West Conference player of the week today on the heels of the senior wing’s heroics in an overtime win over Long Beach State on Saturday night.
Allen shot 10-for-16 in the 114-107 victory and was one of three Rainbow Warriors to score a career-high 25 points. His driving layup beat the regulation buzzer and sent the game to the extra period.
It was the first BWC player of the week award for UH (7-9, 1-2) this season. Allen, who came off the bench, broke out of a five-game slump over which he scored a combined 13 points.
“That was really cool. I’m very humbled,” Allen said of the award today. “I’m just thankful for my teammates and my coaching staff. It’s a blessing.”
The ’Bows continue their five-game homestand against Cal State Northridge (7-10, 3-1) on Wednesday.

Congrats Noah! May there be many more!
I hope Coach Ganot allows his players to play loose and attack the basket. This latest win was a good example of pushing the pace and not hesitating when the shot is there. If we continue to attack and keep the opponent on their heels than we have a chance.
