President Barack Obama spent New Year’s Eve golfing at the Marine Corps base in Kaneohe.
His party included Bobby Titcomb, Mike Ramos and Darrell Harrington, according to the White House.
Obama and his family are scheduled to return to Washington, D.C., tonight, departing from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam at 10 p.m.
Obama got a relatively late start Saturday, leaving his Kailua beachside rental house just after 10 a.m. and arriving at the base two minutes later, the White House pool reported. The weather cooperated, offering partly sunny skies.
The presidential motorcade left the base at 2:52 p.m. and returned to the Kailuana Place house. Officials announced that Obama would stay in the rest of the day.
On Friday, the Obamas spent most of the day at a luau at Titcomb’s oceanfront home in Mokuleia. Obama and Titcomb went to Punahou School together.
The Obamas had left Kailua at 12:15 p.m. for the luau, arriving nearly an hour later. They left Mokuleia at 7:30 p.m. and returned home at 8:33 p.m.
