Hawaii Kai sports bar hit by armed robbers

Police are searching for two suspects in the armed robbery of The Shack Hawaii Kai early this morning.
Police are looking for two suspects who allegedly robbed a Hawaii Kai restaurant early today.
The robbery occurred at The Shack in Hawaii Kai located at the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center on Keahole Street at about 1:30 a.m.
Manager Dustin Keliikuli said the suspects allegedly brandished a gun at a bartender and forced her to open the restaurant’s safe.
The culprits took approximately $1,000 as well as a couple of cellular phones belonging to customers before they fled on foot along the marina, Keliikuli said.
The bartender immediately called 911.
No injuries were reported.

Keliikuli said the restaurant has been burglarized about four times in the past two years. “This was the first time we got robbed at gunpoint,” he said.
Police are continuing their investigation.

An uninformed post. Mr Allie – It was reported last night that the annual 4,000 gun murders in Chicago are primarily due to gang turf wars. This was an armed robbery and NOT a turf war like what is happening in Chicago.
Better check your stats Allie, btw, did you know there is approximately 143% more killings in North Dakota than here in the aina on an annual basis?

Also, care to tell us all why we should also not be permitted to obtain a CWP like others to in states since you’re so against CWP for law abiding citizens?

Absolutely irrelevant statement. All of Hawaii is a “gun-free zone” as far as CCW goes. If you’re trying to say that this one incident points to a flaw in the current laws you’re picking the wrong state to draw attention to because this kind of thing hardly happens.
You should pick a state where CCW is permitted. Like Florida — oh, right, Orlando.
If the owner was present, he would be the only one permitted to carry in his place of business.
Mr. Jaa, If you knew anything about the law and police operations, not to mention the Constitution of the United States, you would understand the phrasing. I’m guessing you’ve never worked in a law enforcement organization. I’m also guessing that you are a proud graduate of somewhere inconsequential.

Cello…. Until someone is named as an “alleged” perpetrator, there is no need to use the word. The pitiful SA is saying “We don’t know who did this, but we don’t want to falsely accuse any one of a million people who may have.” A first-year journalism student would know better. But, then, Cello, if you want to make a fool of yourself you may as well be condescending and nasty while you’re at it.
Well, since the SA does not in fact know who the perpetrators are, how is the use of the word pitiful?
Most of us haven’t worked in law enforcement and therefore don’t know the in’s and out’s of the law and/or police operations. Based on your comment, I’m assuming you worked in law enforcement, so rather than attacking people’s lack of knowledge, why don’t you explain the phrasing?

i would think that 130 am for a bar/restaurant that closes at 2am would be a good time. given that it was monday, it might have been slower than normal, so close early
and its only going to get worse…..sadly…………
