Norah Jones to play Hawaii Theatre in April
Norah Jones added additional dates to her 2017 “Day Breaks” tour today, with the first being an April 26 date at the Hawaii Theatre.
Jones became an international sensation with hit album debut “Come Away With Me” in 2002, which topped the Billboard 200 album chart. The album won eight Grammy Awards and was certified a diamond-seller by the Recording Industry Association of America, selling more than 10 million copies in its first three years.
Jones released her sixth studio album, “Day Breaks,” in October of this year, with the album rising to No. 2 on the Billboard chart. All of her albums have charted in the Billboard Top 10.
Jones came to Honolulu for a sold-out 2005 concert at the Blaisdell Arena but earned some mixed publicity in 2009 when, after being booked for a fundraiser at the Sheraton Waikiki by the Hawai’i Writers Conference, organizers cancelled the show. Her standard contract gave Jones the right to keep half of the group’s $100,000 pre-payment for the show, and Jones did so.
Tickets, $49.50 to $79.50, go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Thursday at HawaiiTheatre.com or by phone at 528-0506.
Promoter Bamp Project is presenting the show along with Goldenvoice, a California-based presenter.
