Police are searching for suspects in three bank robberies, two of them committed back-to-back Saturday, possibly by the same man.
At 2:30 p.m. Friday, a man robbed the First Hawaiian Bank branch at 1580 Kapiolani Blvd.
Police said the man handed a teller a note demanding money and indicating he had a weapon. He fled on foot on Kapiolani with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as Caucasian in his 50s, with a stocky build. He has white hair and a white mustache, and walks with a “distinct waddle,” police said.
At 10:15 a.m. Saturday, a man robbed the Chinatown branch of the Bank of Hawaii. He handed a teller at Bank of Hawaii a demand note and stated that he had a weapon, police said.
He fled on foot in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of money.
He is described as Caucasian, with a medium build, short gray hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a dark Polo shirt and aviator sunglasses.
At 11:05 a.m. Saturday, a man handed a demand note to an American Savings teller at Walmart, 700 Keeaumoku St., and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. He also was described as Caucasian, with a medium build, thinning black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a dark Polo shirt and aviator glasses on his head.
