Two of Sanrio’s characters are giving back to their animal pals over the holidays. Chococat and the beret-wearing golden retriever Pompompurin are the stars of two limited-edition tote bags being offered to raise funds for the Humane Society of the United States.
The bags cost $30, of which $6 will go directly to the Humane Society. The totes are available at the Kahala and Pearlridge Sanrio stores or online at Sanrio.com.
THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR SHOPPING
These days, dropping into the holiday shopping fray feels a lot like stepping into a combat zone. Model Gigi Hadid had the right idea when she collaborated with Stuart Weitzman to create the Gigi Boot, a high-heel combat bootie that puts anyone into urban warrior mode.
The stylish lace-up bootie reflects Hadid’s sleek street style and comes in crocodile-embossed calf leather ($598) and two shiny, look-at-me metallics ($565 each), available at the Weitzman boutique at International Market Place.
A short film directed by James Franco and starring Hadid, titled “#doitright,” can be viewed on Stuart Weitzman’s YouTube channel.
A portion of sales will benefit the shoe company’s partnership with Pencils of Promise, which is helping to build three elementary schools, one each in Ghana, Guatemala and Laos.
