You have questions. I have some answers.
Question: Is there any chance the Broadway show “Hamilton” will be available on DVD after the show has closed? There is no way I could go to the show in New York but I am really interested in seeing it.
Answer: The original cast, including star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, reportedly filmed performances for an eventual DVD release before Miranda left the show. But I have no idea when that might be released. It is unlikely that the show will close soon in New York, as it is an enormous hit.
If you haven’t already, you may also want to check out the PBS documentary “Hamilton’s America,” which premiered on “Great Performances” in October. And December should bring “The Hamilton Mixtape,” a collection of remixes, covers and tracks inspired by the musical.
Q: Do you think there will ever be “Ab Fab” reruns? I loved them.
A: The British comedy has reappeared from time to time. Right now you can find the old episodes on Hulu’s streaming service and on DVD. The recent “Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie” is also popping up, including on DVD on Nov. 29.
Q: Is “Bones” coming back for a new season? When?
A: I mentioned not long ago, the Fox series is returning for its final season in 2017, and now we have a date. What the network is calling “Bones: The Final Chapter” begins on Jan. 3. According to Fox: “Fans will see the return of fan-favorite guest stars and squinterns (Booth’s nickname for interns), as well as an old flame from one of the team’s past.
Fans also will experience a wedding, follow an epic serial killer story line, go undercover in a lumberjack competition, and see Booth and Brennan’s marriage get put to the test. As always, new guest stars will be introduced, as well as a final round of gory murders, from which brand-new investigations will arise.”
Q: Is “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” coming back?
A: Yes. The OWN docuseries about the family and its soul-food business begins a new season on Saturday.
