BeachHouse Publishing has released three new, adorable board books.
“Baby’s Book of Firsts in Hawaii,” illustrated by Jamie Meckel Tablason, celebrates important milestones, Hawaii-style, with colorful illustrations. For instance, “Baby’s first taste is two-fingered poi,” and, “The rhythm of hula is baby’s first joy.”
“One to Ten in Hawaii,” illustrated by Kristi Petosa-Sigel, introduces kids to nine different languages by teaching them to count from one to 10. Languages include English, Hawaiian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin), Tagalog, Samoan, Vietnamese and Spanish. Cute characters to count and rhyming verses will hold keiki’s attention.
“Sand Mouse’s Soup,” illustrated by Alvina Kwong, teaches the benefits of sharing. After finding a big, empty pot, Sand Mouse borrows ingredients from neighbors to create a delicious soup that they all share. A recipe for Portuguese bean soup is included in the back of the book.
Each book costs $7.95.
