The partial lane closure began at 9:30 a.m. and is scheduled to end at about 11:30 a.m. Motorists are advised to expect delays.
On Nov. 2, Janexty Kaaloa, 1o, was struck by a vehicle on the highway near Kaaloa’s Super J’s Authentic Hawaiian restaurant while on her way home from school.
Her family owns the restaurant and have a home behind the establishment.
Police said Kaaloa, who family members called “Ulu,” was running across the roadway when a Jeep pickup truck driven by a 61-year-old Captain Cook man traveling southbound on the highway struck her.
