Big surf forecast for north, west shores
The National Weather Service has issued a high-surf advisory through 6 a.m. Saturday for the north- and west-facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands, where waves are expected to reach 15 to 20 feet.
The Weather Service said oceangoers can expect strong breaking waves and strong currents, making swimming dangerous.
The surf is expected to subside by Saturday afternoon.
