Honolulu mayoral candidate Charles Djou will be the featured speaker Monday at the monthly Auto Lunch Bunch at the Waikiki Yacht Club at 1599 Ala Moana Blvd. Djou will outline his proposal for the city to acquire land on Oahu to reopen a race track for drag racing, motorcycle racing, sports car racing, dirt track racing and other activities.
JN Exotics also will show off two SUVs at the event — the Bentley Bentayga and the Maserati Levante.

Kiewit awards trio of $2,500 scholarships
Hawaii general contractor Kiewit has awarded three $2,500 scholarships to college-bound students pursuing studies in engineering, architecture or construction management.
The three students — Kiana Caranto of Mililani High School, Christina Shin of Kalani High School and Eve Paguirigan of Keaau High School on Hawaii island — demonstrated excellence in academics and extracurricular activities. They were selected from among 65 qualified applicants.
Facebook closes in on 2B monthly users
SAN FRANCISCO >> Facebook announced Wednesday that it topped 1.79 billion monthly visitors as of the end of September, up 16 percent from a year ago. Facebook also added a record number of new daily users, and said for the first time that more than 1 billion people regularly used its network exclusively on their mobile device every month.
And those numbers do not even include Facebook’s other properties, such as photo-sharing service Instagram and messaging service WhatsApp.
Facebook said sales totaled $6.82 billion for the third quarter, up 59 percent from a year ago. Total profit was $2.38 billion, nearly three times as much as a year ago.

>> Kon Lee Weber has been promoted to store manager of ABC Store #82, at 1923 Kalakaua Ave. Weber first joined ABC Stores in 2011 as a management trainee and previously served as an associate store manager.
>> Perry Gragas has been promoted to merchandising manager of ABC Stores’ Maui District. Gragas was previously an associate store manager for several ABC Stores on Maui and has had 24 years of resort retailing experience.
>> Craig Oishi has been promoted to store manager of ABC Store #74, in Maui’s Piilani Village Shopping Center. Oishi first joined ABC Stores in 2003 as a management trainee and previously served as an associate store manager.
Trump International Hotel Waikiki has appointed Ryan Tucker as director of concierge and front service. Prior to joining the hotel, he served as a chef concierge and director of guest relations at The Modern Honolulu. Tucker has more than 11 years of experience in the luxury hospitality field, where he worked in concierge roles as well as various guest services.
