Safe, priest’s car taken in church burglary

A thief or thieves removed louvers to break into the rectory of The Holy Rosary Church in Paia overnight.
A thief or thieves stole a safe and a priest’s car from a Catholic church on Maui overnight.
The church office, rectory and multi-purposed building at the Holy Rosary Church in Paia was ransacked as well, Deacon Patrick Constantino said.
Constantino said the break-in and theft happened after the observance of All Saints Day Tuesday night.
He said he discovered the burglary when he arrived to work at about 6:45 this morning.
The safe containedcash. The church priest’s 2005 white four-door Toyota Prius was also stolen, he said.
Other items were taken, including coffee and a coffee maker.

Entry was made into the kitchen side of the building by taking off the screen and louvers, he said.
“They didn’t hit the church or preschool,” he said.
“They were looking for whatever they could get.”
The church, established in 1926 while Paia was a sugar plantation, serves about 175 families.

They should put louver clips or epoxy the louvers in place. Crooks would have to break the louvers if they want to get in. Plenty noise and plenty mess. Looks like they just pushed the louvers out of its brackets.

Too bad the thief didn’t fall to his death like the one that fell from the high rise a few days back when he tried to rob/hurt a 76 year old lady. Maybe Karma will catch up with the perp later on.

How much you wanna bet that batu is an element of this incident? Shameless. These people make their personal problems, which are of their own making, the problems of society at large, and we ALL pay.
Crystal Meth is a HUGE problem here in the Nei, yet government doesn’t seem to address the issue very well, if at all.
I hope Karma gets them big time!!!
