Let’s see what Mayor Djou does with this. Things can only get better.

    • HAJAA1 says:

Lol, poor Djou. He has some promise, but he keeps entering races he won’t win. Anybody with any political memory knows Djon’t only cares about things related to east of Honolulu and nothing else.

  2. bleedgreen says:

Too late in the game to get better. To me, the best outlook is to keep the cost below $9 billion, but the way things are going, we might be lucky to have a rail system to Ala Moana for less than $10 billion and operational by 2022.

  3. Pocho says:

This is a not so smart question. TheRail situation is in the dumpster, a new leader won’t fix this behemoth of losing project. It is now about, how can TheRail cut it’s losses!

  4. Kalaheo1 says:

This is another one of those questions designed to “split the vote” so that the pro-rail answer will float to the top.

Despite trying to game the poll, the pro-rail answer is still at the bottom (as of ~0700)

  5. inlanikai says:

Outlook: Twice as long, twice as much.

  6. Lana888 says:

Did everyone see the full-page ad by the structural engineer questioning the safety of the rail construction? Here is where the problems are going to be. We need to stop griping about the costs and make sure it is built to last, solidly and safely. Otherwise ALL the money is being wasted.

  7. jankenpo says:

Rail will probably keep going along the same regardless who is leading the way. What’s worse is that the money got to come from somewhere and someone and the someone is all of us. Expect the rail tax extensions on the GET. Ige will probably not give up the 10% processing fee since he is looking to raise gas and other taxes on us. They have been hinting on raising property taxes on us for the rail. All in all, hang on to your wallets.
