Trump pounces on Clinton email woes as her team jabs FBI

ASSOCIATED PRESS

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton waves as she boards her campaign plane at Westchester County Airport in White Plains, N.Y., Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, to travel to Florida.

WASHINGTON >> Hillary Clinton’s campaign lashed out at the FBI on Saturday, saying there was no indication that a cache of recently discovered emails under review by the agency was connected to the Democratic nominee. Barnstorming the West, Republican rival Donald Trump pounced on the reignited email controversy.

Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta told reporters FBI Director James Comey’s letter to Congress about the new emails was “long on innuendo” and “short on facts.”

“There’s no evidence of wrongdoing,” he said. “No charge of wrongdoing. No indication this is even about Hillary.”

But on that latter point, Comey in fact said the new trove was “pertinent” to the Clinton email investigation, without explaining how.

A government official told The Associated Press on Saturday that the Justice Department had advised the FBI against telling Congress about the new developments in the Clinton investigation because of the potential fallout so close to the election. The official was not authorized to speak publicly about the matter and discussed it on condition of anonymity.

Justice officials concluded the letter would be inconsistent with department policy that directs against investigative actions that could be seen as affecting an election or helping a particular candidate, the official said.

Landing with a thud, the email issue again threatened to undermine an advantage built by Clinton, the Democratic nominee, over Trump and raised the possibility that the Republican might be able to seize momentum during the final days before the Nov. 8 election.

Trump told a crowd in Golden, Colorado, on Saturday that the FBI’s review of Clinton email practices raises “everybody’s deepest hope that justice, as last, can be properly delivered.” His crowd cheered Clinton’s email woes, which Trump has taken to calling the biggest political scandal since Watergate.

Trump also had battleground Arizona on his plate Saturday. Early voting has been underway for weeks and Clinton, who was campaigning Saturday in Florida, has led in preference polls, both nationally and in key swing states.

The FBI is looking into whether there was classified information on a device belonging to Anthony Weiner, the disgraced ex-congressman who is separated from longtime Clinton aide Huma Abedin. Comey, in his letter to Congress on Friday, said the FBI had recently come upon new emails while pursuing an unrelated case and was reviewing whether they were classified.

The announcement raised more questions than answers and generated criticism that Comey was injecting a significant development too close to an election. Yet the FBI director also faced the prospect of intense scrutiny if voters learned that he had been sitting on a major development until after the election.

Podesta and campaign manager Robby Mook spoke to reporters in a conference call, following Clinton’s hastily arranged news conference on Friday night in a high school choir room in Des Moines, Iowa. In it, she said “the American people deserve to get the full and complete facts immediately. The director himself has said he doesn’t know whether the emails referenced in his letter are significant or not.”

But long-term, the development all but ensured that, even should Clinton win the White House, she and several of her closest aides would celebrate a victory under a cloud of investigation.

don’t expect anything different in this investigation into new emails found on weiner’s computer as long as the corrupt obama administration is colluding with the department of justice and the female felon’s campaign. comey will not indict and will not seek to prosecute anyone in this investigation.

comey’s letter to congress informing them of this new investigation was nothing more than a warning to alert legislators that their communications with weiner are at risk for exposure. what are the chances that in the tens of thousands of emails are communications outlining criminal activity, porn and “locker room” banter.

congressional members are probably bleaching all communications involving weiner and abedin.

the female felon’s brown shirts are already out in force trying to deflect this latest warning to congress by comey.

GUILTY CORRUPT CRIMINAL HILLARY CLINTON IS A DELUSIONAL SOCIOPATH !!!

      • GONEGOLFIN says:

So it’s OK to go out and destroy Trump with the video evidence but not OK to destroy Hillary with email evidence. Is there something wrong with this picture?

        • klastri says:

In the Clinton case, it would help if there actually was evidence, don’t you think? Or is it OK to just make it up online?

    • kuroiwaj says:

IRT St1d, on this case, the FBI Director Comey went against the wished of the AJ and WH. Very gutsy, or has evidence that is indisputable on secret information sent from Ms Hillary through Ms Huma to ?. Yep, let’s watch all the little explosions and statements begin to emerge.

  2. MoiLee says:

With all the evidence surfacing around Hillary. The FBI and Wikileaks.
Why aren’t the Democratic Party and the Republican Party demanding that Hillary Clinton resign from the Campaign?
After all, they demanded Donald Trump to resign! Based from mere Locker Room Talk.

    • Boots says:

Perhaps because there is nothing there? I mean come on what is the so called evidence around Hillary? And who has demanded that the Donald resign? The poor Donald. He is just a poor rich con man who just wants to make a few bucks.

      • calentura says:

Trump already made a lot of money. The Clintons, too, in different ways. My favorite was Bill getting millions for being a shadow chancellor of a mail order university. Pretty slick. Didn’t even have to give a speech.

      • Ronin006 says:

Boots, 33,000 allegedly personal emails were deleted from Hillary’s secret private server before the F.B.I. could look at them. The only evidence they were all personal and not government-related is Hillary’s word which is about as good as the bottom of an outhouse. It is possible that many of the emails found on Weiner’s computer are from the batch of deleted emails and just might be government-related and contrary to what Hillary has claimed. We will know when the F.B.I. completes its investigation. Until then, hold your fire.

Hillary may be faced with a major decision soon depending on how serious Uma’s computer emails are. Is Uma becoming too much of a liability for her to remain as Hillary’s right hand confidante? Or will HRC reveal her true personality and throw Uma under the bus? Loyalty and politics don’t mix well, especially with the White House at stake.

    • calentura says:

Hillary’s choice of “bedfellows” is coming back to haunt her. But then Uma can pick right back up as ambassador for the Muslim Brotherhood.

      • klastri says:

How about you pick one day next week to write something truthful? Just stop lying for one day.

        Think you can do that?

        • calentura says:

          That’s right, it’s Huma.
A bedfellow is someone who is closely connected to another. Is that a lie..? Did Huma resign her post when Mubarek and Qaddafi were thrown out..? Did Huma help or hinder the flow of Arab money into the foundation… You seem to know; you seem to know everything.

        • klastri says:

calentura – No, I don’t know everything. But you do, including a link (that you fabricated from thin air) to the Muslim Brotherhood.

That’s called lying. You do it all the time. It’s the standard practice of people who don’t know anything and who are proud of their ignorance. You just make up what you don’t know.

  4. Wazdat says:

They had to reopen the investigation because they found inconsistencies with Hillary’s statements regarding these new emails that have come to light. You cannot lie to the FBI because it’s a felony.

  5. 64hoo says:

Hillary still asking comey to release the contents of those e-mails, and everyone else, he cannot do that because he would be breaking the law if he released anything during an investigation even if it takes a year or two to go through thousands of e- mails so he will not release anything and crooked Hillary should know that, only a crooked person like hillary would be demanding that he release what was found in those e-mails, before the investigation is done so the Russian theory is gone.

  6. Maipono says:

Interesting that Boots knows that there is nothing in the emails from HilLIARy, since the FBI hasn’t told anybody about what they have seen. That doesn’t stop the Koolaid from flowing from the corrupt Democrat Party sycophants.

  7. Bumby says:

Many times a picture of a person would depict the article being published. The mainstream media has spun it again. When the Trumpet is accused of a negative action his pictures makes him look like a deplorable. Why aren’t your pictures doing the same for the lying lady.

Also look at Abudin portrayed like a nice lady. Imagine her behind the scenes working for a lying lady.
