A moped can be an efficient way to navigate island streets. But, of course, it can be dangerous for riders who need no operator’s license to zip alongside half-ton trucks, bulky buses and taxis making frequent lane changes.
In the latest tragic fatality, a 22-year-old Honolulu man died Tuesday after his moped rear-ended another moped stopped at a crosswalk near the University of Hawaii at Manoa. It serves as a heartbreaking reminder for riders to maintain a hyper-vigilant focus on ever-changing traffic flow.
