Timberlake’s ballot selfie would be legal in Hawaii

Memphis, Tenn. >> Justin Timberlake flew from California to Tennessee in order to vote early, and state officials say that’s great — but he shouldn’t have taken a selfie at the ballot box.
The singer posted a picture of himself at the voting booth on Instagram Monday, noting that if he could make that effort, then there are “No excuses, my good people!”
A Tennessee law that took effect earlier this year bars voters from taking photographs or video while inside a polling location.
His selfie would be legal in Hawaii. Lawmakers passed a law this year that allows voters to share a digital image of one’s own marked ballot.
Tennessee Secretary of State spokesman Adam Ghassemi says officials are “thrilled Justin can’t stop the feeling” but reminded voters to use their phones inside polling locations only to help them vote.
Timberlake lives in California, but grew up in the Memphis area and owns property near Nashville.

Taking photo’s of your ballot should be illegal. It undermines the integrity of the system by allowing those who wish to literally buy votes, to require people to prove who they voted for in order to get paid.
If I offered every person in my district money to vote a certain way, payable with proof of selfie, then I could literally buy the vote.
Or, what if a union or other thug organization wanted people to prove they voted the “right way” via selfie? Hope I made my point. Can’t understand how this is legal.
