Bill Murray receives Mark Twain humor award

Washington >> Bill Murray got the sort of attention he doesn’t usually seek out when he was honored with the nation’s top prize for humor.
The actor received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Sunday at the Kennedy Center. David Letterman, Emma Stone and Sigourney Weaver were among those on hand to celebrate.
Murray got his break on “Saturday Night Live” and starred in some of the most successful comedies of the 1980s and 1990s before transitioning into more dramatic roles. He was nominated for an Oscar for his soulful turn as a washed-up actor in Sofia Coppola’s “Lost in Translation.”
Murray, 66, joins several other “Saturday Night Live” alumni to receive the prize, including Tina Fey, Will Ferrell and Eddie Murphy.

A very talented comedian.
“Lost in Translation” was his greatest role imho. Profound yet subtly comedic.
Yes. He has a really solid body of comedic work.
Actually, fifty years from now, few will be watching Lost in Translation. People then will be watching Ghostbusters instead. Physical and action comedies are timeless, talkative ones seldom ever.
