You’ll have to wait until Nov. 23 for “Moana” to sail into theaters, but the heroine of Disney’s newest animated film can travel with you on your next adventure now that the Disney Moana by LeSportsac collection is in stores.
Fourteen styles are available in “Wave Reader” and “Ocean Spirit” prints bearing the likeness of the South Pacific teen whose navigational feats are the subject of the film. The styles range from cosmetic pouches to backpacks and weekender travel bags. The Moana collection is exclusive to LeSportsac’s Hawaii and new Santa Monica, Calif., stores. Five styles are available only in Hawaii. Prices range from $38 to $178.
Tie up present hunt with homemade Christmas gifts
This is the time of year when people start getting crafty for the holidays.
If you have no such skills to speak of, Island Bungalow wants to change that, starting with a “Get Knotty” macrame plant hanger workshop with Kailua fiber artist Erica Perry beginning 11 a.m. Nov. 5. A $40 fee includes all materials for this beautiful addition to any home.
Participants will learn the fundamental knots traditionally used in this art form that is believed to have originated with 13th century Arab weavers. Another workshop on Dec. 19 will feature macrame key chains.
Island Bungalow is at 131 Hekili St. in Kailua. Call 536-4543 to reserve a space.
