You have questions. I have some answers.
Question: What happened to the actor who plays Hodgins on “Bones”? On the show it was explained that he was in an explosion that put him in the wheelchair.
Answer: T.J. Thyne, who plays Jack Hodgins on the Fox drama, does not need a wheelchair in his off-camera life. He’s acting. But in Hollywood’s attempts to provide more realistic portrayals on camera, there are some actors whose screen roles reflect their regular lives. Daryl Chill Mitchell, who plays the wheelchair-using Patton Plame on CBS’s “NCIS: New Orleans,” was in a 2001 motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Micah Fowler, who plays JJ DiMeo on ABC’s “Speechless,” has cerebral palsy just as JJ does on the show. On the other hand, sometimes what you are seeing is simply artifice, with Thyne just a recent example.
