Apple: Many ‘genuine’ Apple products on Amazon are fake

Lisa Gao, from Chicago, compared a new jet black iPhone 7, right, with her iPhone 6 at an Apple Store in Chicago on Sept. 16. Apple said in a lawsuit filed Monday, that it has been buying Apple products labeled as genuine on Amazon.com and has found nearly 90 percent of them are counterfeit.

The revelation comes in a federal lawsuit filed by Apple against a New Jersey company on Monday over what Apple says are counterfeit products that were sold on Amazon.
In the lawsuit, Apple says Mobile Star imprinted Apple logos on cables and chargers that “pose a significant risk of overheating, fire, and electrical shock.” It says the chargers and cables were being sold on Amazon as genuine Apple products.
Apple says it purchased the products on Amazon and later told the online retailer that they were fake. Amazon then identified Mobile Star as the source.
Amazon isn’t named in the suit. Mobile Star didn’t return a voicemail seeking comment.

These are NOT THE ONLY FAKE PRODUCTS ON AMAZON. Buyer Beware!!! Especially items such as women’s designer purses (according to my wife).
You actually would buy “designer” purses on Amazon for less than half the cost and NOT know they’re fakes? Then blame Amazon for your stupidity?

Look beyond the manufacturer of counterfeit goods and you’ll often find a greedy American seller and distributor.

All companies should be checking if amazon is selling counterfeits of their products and name amazon she amazon if they doesn’t take action to resolve the situation. Once amazon is notified of the fraud it is their responsibility to stop it. The government should also do an investigation into amazon to determining me if they are trafficking counterfeit products.
Hopefully there will be a criminal investigation as well…..

Amazon has a major problem with Chinese counterfeit products. If it can’t clean house, it’s brand will suffer.
