Trump refuses to say he will accept election results
LAS VEGAS >>Threatening to upend a fundamental pillar of American democracy, Donald Trump refused to say that he will accept the results of next month’s election if he loses to Hillary Clinton. The Democratic nominee declared Trump’s resistance “horrifying.”
Trump had spent the days leading up to the third and final presidential debate tonight warning voters that the election would be “rigged.” Asked whether he would accept the outcome if Clinton emerges victorious, he said, “I will tell you at the time. I’ll keep you in suspense.”
The Republican National Committee immediately disavowed Trump’s statement. There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud, and election officials across the country have denied and denounced Trump’s charges.
Trump’s assertions raise the prospect that millions of his supporters may not accept the results on Nov. 8 if he loses, thrusting the nation into uncharted territory. Free and fair elections, with the vanquished peacefully stepping aside for the victor, have been the underpinning of American democracy since its founding 240 years ago.

Wednesday’s contest quickly shifted from a calm, policy-focused faceoff into a bitter and deeply personal confrontation. Trump called Clinton a “nasty woman,” while the Democrat panned him as “unfit” to be commander in chief.
Clinton, who began the debate with a lead in nearly all battleground states, forcefully accused Trump of favoring Russia’s leader over American military and intelligence experts after the Republican nominee pointedly refused to accept the U.S. government’s assertion that Moscow has sought to meddle in the U.S. election.
She charged that Russian President Vladimir Putin was backing Trump because “he’d rather have a puppet as president of the United States.”
Trump denied any relationship with Putin and said he would condemn any foreign interference in the election. But he notably declined to back the intelligence community’s assessment that Russia was involved in the hacking of Democratic organizations. The Clinton campaign has said the FBI also is investigating Russia’s involvement in the hacking of a top adviser’s emails.
The 90-minute contest in Las Vegas came just under three weeks before Election Day and with early voting underway in more than 30 states. Trump has struggled to expand his support beyond his most loyal backers and must reshape the race in its closing days if he hopes to defeat Clinton.
The candidates clashed repeatedly over their drastically different visions for the nation’s future. Trump backed Supreme Court justices who would overturn the landmark Roe vs. Wade ruling, while Clinton vowed to appoint justices that would uphold the decision legalizing abortion, saying, “We have come too far to have that turned back now.”
The businessman entered the final debate facing a string of sexual assault accusations from women who came forward after he denied in the previous contest that he had kissed or groped women without their consent. That Trump denial followed the release of a video of in which he’s heard bragging about exactly that.
Trump denied the accusations anew Wednesday night, saying the women coming forward “either want fame or her campaign did it.” He falsely said the women’s allegations had been debunked.
Clinton said Trump “thinks belittling women makes him bigger. He goes after their dignity, their self-worth.” She avoided answering a question about her husband’s infidelities.
Trump pressed Clinton on immigration, accusing her of wanting an “open borders” policy, a characterization she vigorously disputes. The Republican, who has called for building a wall the length of the U.S.-Mexico border, said that under a Clinton presidency, “People are going to pour into our country.”
Clashing on trade, Trump said Clinton had misrepresented her position on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, noting that she had originally called it the “gold standard” of trade agreements. Clinton shot back that once the deal was finished, it didn’t meet her standards.
“I’m against it now. I’ll be against after the election. I’ll be against it when I’m president,” she said.
Both were asked if they would consider tax increases or benefit cuts to support Social Security and Medicare programs. Trump said he would cut taxes and repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, but he did not detail any plans for Social Security or other entitlement programs. Clinton said she would put more money in the Social Security trust fund through increasing taxes on the wealthy and other methods and promised not to cut benefits. She also argued that the Affordable Care Act has extended the solvency of Medicare and said she would work to bring costs down.
On foreign policy, Clinton reasserted her opposition to sending a large-scale U.S. troop presence to the Middle East to defeat the Islamic State. She’s backed a no-fly zone in Syria, which would mark an expansion of the current U.S. strategy.
For Trump, the debate marked one of his final chances to reshape a race that appears to be slipping away from him. Clinton’s campaign is confidently expanding into traditionally Republican states, while Trump’s narrow electoral path is shrinking.
Clinton has struggled throughout the campaign to overcome persistent questions about her honesty and trustworthiness. In the campaign’s closing weeks, she’s begun appealing to Americans to overcome the deep divisions that have been exacerbated by the heated campaign, saying on stage Wednesday that she intended to be a president for those who vote for her and those who do not.
Clinton faced debate questions for the first time about revelations in her top adviser’s hacked emails that show her striking a different tone in private than in public regarding Wall Street banks and trade. But she quickly turned the discussion to Russia’s potential role in stealing the emails.
Underscoring the deep discord between Trump and Clinton, the candidates did not shake hands at the beginning or end of the debate.

Mr. Trump is an ignoramus who knows absolutely nothing about the details of foreign or domestic policy. For that reason, he’s losing this election in a landslide. Plus, he’s a violent sexual predator and psychotic. There’s that too.
Hi Klastri, the discussion is on the Presidential nomination of Federal Judges, especially the U.S. Supreme Court. In my opinion, Mr. Trump is on message with his identifying some 20 individuals who would be nominated for Federal Judgeships, all Constitutional Originalists with judicial temperament as Justice Scalia. Ms Hillary would nominate Progressive Liberals to the U.S. Supreme Court who would change America and destroy the intent of its founding Fathers.
The good news is that your vote (assuming you vote in Hawai’i) for Mr. Trump won’t count.
He’s going to lose in a spectacular landslide. It can’t be too humiliating or embarrassing for Mr. Trump to satisfy me.
He won’t even say that he’ll accept the result of the election. He’s a traitor.
Just like Al Gore refused to accept the results, even taking it to the High Court. I’m surprised at the level of hate you spew Mr Klasti, as a lawyer. Mr Trump is not in government, which is good. The Clintons should move on and give the country a chance to catch its breath. Hillary is O all over again. And why? For the sake of a vagina?
Mythman – Mr. Gore won the popular vote, which Republicans keep forgetting. Mr. Trump will lose by perhaps 10 million votes. That may not mean anything to you, but it means something to people who think.
Zealot Klastri, you forgot to mention that assuming you vote in Hawaii for Clinton it wont count as well just like if you vote for Trump it wont count. I think you really need to worry about being embarrassed by your hero Hilliar after she losses and then blames the Russians for her defeat.
No worries Klas, what you got here is uniformed and antiquated ideologue and some esoteric academic. The Gore situation is entirely not analogous, as Gore was more than willing to concede and in a very convivial fashion.
IRT Klastri, I, and all my men, would not want you in my Vietnam section if you believed in accepting to lose in combat. Going into combat, you go in to win with no other options, period. Go For Broke. I guess you are a liberal progressive. If all the Democrats and Ms Hillary’s supporters think as you do, they may not go out an cast their vote.
kuroiwaj, did you want donald in Vietnam with you? You know he 4f several times during NAM because he was rich. Lol.
kuroiwaj – Every time you write here, I feel more and more sorry for you.
Running for President is not like being in combat. Can’t you see that? The loser in an election steps aside and supports the winner. It’s one of the hallmarks on what makes the United States special.
Mr. Trump, by the way, is a coward. He made up a foot problem (that he cannot now remember) to get five deferments. A loathsome coward. But he certainly is willing to bluster using the sons and daughters of other people, isn’t he?
Ikefromeli – Uninformed? You really are too kind!
It looks now like Trump may lost by 160 electoral votes. An embarrassing failure. Good thing he’s very experienced at failing.
My wife and I got our air tickets for the inauguration.
Say hi to Frank. Enjoy your trip.
Trump will lose. He keeps saying the same thing over and over again. Of I learned anything about him it’s how stupid he is and how he doesn’t even know how the government works.
IRT Klastri, hey, don’t feel sorry for me. I have a wonderful life and an exceptional family from being born on a ranch to having four wonderful, successful and independent children. God has been on my side, no question.
Al Gore accepted the Supreme Court’s opinion, even thought it was clearly a political one. The recount wasn’t even finished. Except for the vagaries of the Electoral College, he would have been president, since he received more of the popular vote than Bush.
What kuroiwaj cat got your tongue? Wouldn’t be the first time.
IRT NanakuliBoss, if Mr. Trump was a 4F, he would not begin basic training, much less in Vietnam.
For Klastri, just was informed that a friend of mine in D.C., Bruce Fein, is representing Danny Williams (Clinton) in a Paternity suit against President Bill Clinton. Bruce and I became friends during the hearings and other relating to the Akaka Bill. We do stay in touch. Stay tuned.
Kuroiwaj – You should not bring up Vietnam. You say “Going into combat, you go in to win with no other options, period. Go For Broke”. Odd that we lost in Vietnam and you are still alive. I would say you did NOT “Go for Broke”.
Vietnam should be brought up. Pretty sure if you went that you would not have survived. The military’s hands were tied and the full story has been told if you would do a little research. Been there done that. Traitor John Kerry is now Sec of State—Unbelievable.
sailfish, you’ve made the dumbest comment of the day.
hawaiikone please excuse sailfish dumb comment..being uninformed can be very embarrassing.
No hon. She said that she would support Obama’s very moderate judicial appointment that even Republican senators agree is highly qualified.
Evening Allie, all the reason not to vote for Ms Hillary, if she supports Hawaii’s born President Obama’s nominee, a very moderate judge.
trumpy is a poor loser, what a dud – oink, oink.
there are to philosophies in how the us constitution should be interpreted. the repubs like conservatists while the dems like liberal judges. the constitution was written well over 300 years ago and based on conditions existing at that time. since then, time and things have changed and the constitution has been amended several times. hence, the constitution is a living document and should be interpreted according to conditions existing today, not over 300 years ago. conditions existing today may not have existed at the time of writing.
The Constitution was written more than 60 years before the Declaration of Independence?
IRT Aiea7, No. Supreme Court Justices must interpret the U.S. Constitution as written, even 235 years ago. If there are required changes, there is the process to amend the Constitution, as has been done 27 times. Our Country’s Founders had tremendous foresight in building the greatest Country in the World.
Thank you Hillary for telling everyone they will only have 4 minutes after the President gives the order to launch the missiles will be launched. It’s not a secret anymore that okay Trump will improve our launch times.
Amazing no one mentioned this! hiLIARy cannot be trusted with NATIONAL SECURITY! She lost her mind!
Agree with Klastri. And the comment about not accepting the results of democracy are outrageous even for the immoral, ignorant and incompetent Trump. Hillary takes the election.
HiLIARy may lie her way in. Lock up the female felon. She panicked when the Clinton Foundation way brought up. Too funny. Now she’s back on the Meds
You know what was funny, sarge, was when Trump said his charity gives out 100% of its donations and then Hillary said we’ll never know if Trump is telling the truth or not because he hasn’t released his tax forms.
Sure, she’s a felon- because Chump and a shrinking minority of wingnuts think so. Because they know better than any year-long review by the FBI.
I told you before, young man, LOOK IT UP. Do a search on “Clinton Foundation percent truth”. Just on the search page you can see that 89% of donations go to help people. The claims by hillbilly websites and hillbilly candidates (Trump and Pence) are completely wrong, are intentionally meant to mislead undereducated followers.
Look at a legitimate, professional, unbiased website once in awhile. You should hate Trump and Pence for LYING to you. Don’t vote for people who tell an untruth once every 3 minutes.
http://fortune.com/2016/10/18/clinton-foundation-conflicts/Back in 2013, when Chelsea Clinton was taking a larger role at the foundation she hired the law firm Simpson, Thacher and Bartlett to do a “governance review.” The review was fought by many long-time foundation staffers at the time. The existence of the review had been previously reported, during a time when press was devoting greater scrutiny to the operations of the Clinton Foundation, as speculation swirled about a possible second Hillary Clinton bid for the White House. But at the time the Clinton Foundation didn’t make big news. Now it’s central to Trump and his supporters claims that Clinton is “crooked.”
who cares if Trump accepts or doesn’t accept the Presidential Election. Tell me, what choice does Trump have? Democrats will create something from nothin! Tell me pretell, what do you think Hillary’s lying and side-stepping questions about her lies? That’s the real question
For one he did not say he would not accept the results. He said he would review at the time. He gave some outrages reasons such as voter fraud, but his comments about a biased media dog-piling on him while ignoring all the substantive criticisms of Clinton are dead on. Don’t forget democrat Al Gore contested his election results all the way to the Supreme Court. Funny, how something as mediocre as Trumps position of wait and see has become a viral, media bonanza.
Trump knows he’s going to lose “bigly” and has said before that he hates losers, so he will never admit that he lost even if Hillary takes every state.
nothin wrong with that. lol
“Looooser”.
Maybe when he LOSES, he can move to Gina.
It’s spelled China, but the correct pronunciation is “Gina.”
As a native American female, I can not support trump. His hatred for indigenous people and his hatred for the working class American are appalling. Is Hillary flawed? Yes. Will she make a good president? Yes. Done deal. Trump disqualified himself (again) last night.
I think it is more productive to come to your conclusions based on thinking, rather than a selected group into which you can be classified.
Agree 100%. Can’t believe so many dummies believing in him. He would be a disaster to the nation if elected. Hope he loses in a landslide!
I think Hillary should man up and apologize to the mothers of all the Benghazi victims. At the same time she and little Barry Hussein and everyone else who lied about the cause of the Benghazi attacks should apologize to the American people as well. We all know that no such apology will be forthcoming and the vermin in the media will continue to protect Waldo Clinton and little Barry Hussein.
CEI, after BUSH/CHENEY apologize to America for all deaths in IRAQ on that fake lies. From IRAQ came a greatly hate to all Americans that extended throughout the Middle East. Benghazi is an extension of this blunder.
HiLIARy owns Benghazi and don’t you forget it.
No. BUSH/CHENEY OWNS ALL OF THE MIDLE EAST BLUNDERS. Benghazi was part of the BUSH legacy. Stevens should have made the right move and got everyone out the month before. The burden lies with the senior “boots on the ground”.
No- wingnuts continue to attempt to hang Benghazi on her- no one else buys it- check the polls.
Yes-numbnuts continue to believe Crooked Lying HiLIARy.
Waldo Clinton voted to use force in the middle east in 2002 when G.W. Bush was president. Try harder next time skippy.
And that makes her responsible for Dubya’s disastrous blunders in the Middle East and the right-wing chickenhawks who were the cheerleaders and are apologists to this day? No. Feeble attempt to be condescending, without knowledge to back it up- very Trump–like.
Sure. . . because all of the investigations and testimony that have gone into reviewing the tragedy in Benghazi are rigged, right? And because the media has reported, correctly, that there were no findings of wrongdoing by the secretary of state, it’s rigged, right? And the election- even though by every forecast, Chump will lose big because he’s transparently unfit- if he does- why, the election must be rigged, right? Sorry- no one buys it but the shrinking ranks of right-wingers, consoling themselves repeating the same bitter anecdotes to each other over and over and over. . .
I think Congress should apologize to the mothers and fathers (why forget the fathers) of the Benghazi victims because they pulled the funding that would’ve provided the embassies with protection.
Sorry, I got my ballot today, shut my eyes and held my nose as I voted……
if the moderator had a kill the sound to the candidates mic’s…….he would have better control……
no kidding, he needs an on/off switch for the mics.
I think Alex Baldwin makes a better Donald Trump. On “Celebrity Apprentice” ” OF WHICH I SHOULD HAVE WON AN EMMY”. Can the GOP give him an EMMY on November 28. Pleazeeee.
Alex Baldwin? Who dat kuli?
Clinton is such a LIAR. She has been in politics for 30 years people. WAKE UP all talk !!
Lock her up.
Such a liar? Clinton is an amateur at lying compared to trump.
Actually, I think that he is a very poor liar.
His strength is an ability to go directly to the true core of an issue. This is needed to succeed in the real world. If you do not have a creative talent for this you cannot succeed. It may not be there all the time, but there has to be enough of it to make it work.
On the other hand, it seems that in politics that a creative talent for weaving, spinning and dissembling can take you a long way. For example, when the horrors of late term abortions are revealed, you retreat into the phony argument of exceptions.
why are there no star-advertiser articles on the project veritas videos.
Hmmmmmm…
IRT den: Good point. Bias through omission is the playbook for the media. It’s really unfortunate.
You poor, sad, under-educated victims of tin-hat right-wing misinformation. PV sent out one of their agents to do a “sting” (lol!).
They tricked some Clinton booth worker into accepting a $75 (SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS!!!) donation indirectly from a Canadian visitor through the PV undercover agent.
This is your proof that “the election is rigged”??? Oh, right, only if Donald is a loser.
Oops, what I meant to say was that if Donald the loser loses the election, then he would contest the results in a loser-like manner. And he’d lose that appeal. What does that make him?
obviously you didn’t see the video because it had nothing to do with
the content of your rant.
It’s just that with the SA being the main newspaper media in the state I would think that
they would be unbiased and print the concerns from both sides of the election.
🙂
I watched it. A Clinton booth worker made a judgment error and accepted a $75 (SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLAR) donation indirectly from a Canadian visitor through the PV undercover “sting agent.”
Obviously you frequent biased websites. Whenever Trump fans post links to those hillbilly websites and I have time, I look up those articles and can see right away they’re a bunch of rot, poorly written and poorly (or nonely) researched. I post a sincere reply, pointing to the many holes in those articles. The Trumpzi who posted the link usually never reply. They give up.
Trump is giving up right now. Look and listen to what he says; he’s already looking ahead to his next attention-grabbing reality show.
Hmmmm. . . I dunno- maybe because the SA is a legitimate media outlet and the videos are unsubstantiated and released by a right wing activist group with an agenda.
sorry, not buying that excuse.
Mr. Trump would not say that he would accept the result of the election. He’s a dangerous psychotic.
The fact that one single person supports him is a national disgrace. Anyone who supports a person who does not believe in the peaceful transition of power following an election is an imbecile. Every one of them.
“The fact that one single person supports him is a national disgrace.” I believe it is unfair for you to make this generalized statement. By the way, I believe you meant “deplorable?” 🙂
Fair? FAIR? He would not say that he would accept the result of an election. Who cares about fairness?
What adult could then still support him? Traitors and imbeciles. Period.
He’s a worthless piece of garbage. That statement alone is disqualifying. Nothing else he said matters.
Klasless speaking of garbage that is all you spew. The election is rigged so why should he accept the results. Even if he wins he is not open to accepting the results. Why is a useless lawyer wasting time on the juvenile msg board? Any response???
sarge22 – The issue is that he plays to people like you, who know absolutely nothing, and who agree with him that the election isn’t legitimate.
Thankfully, there aren’t many people like you. Very thankfully.
He’s going to lose in a landslide. I’ll be at Mrs. Clinton’s inauguration with my wife. Happy days!
sarge, thanks for not posting any links today (as far as I can see). I hope you appreciate my clicking and looking at your links the past few days. I hope you understand my replies that poked holes in all of those articles so far. I hope you’re enjoying this whole election discussion thing.
I can’t follow any links today because I’m busy. You can post more, or better yet, stop reading those distorted articles. See the light, don’t let Trump and his hillbilly media mislead you.
Trump and his hillbilly media? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvyTY_oYR_c
Why would anyone except an ignoramus say now that they will accept the results of an election to be held in three weeks? A lot can happen on Election Day including massive voter fraud. No one will know until it happens, so Trump was smart in saying he would wait until that time. I am not surprised Klastri found fault with someone showing some common sense.
Of course we know what will happen. How can you write something so ridiculous?
So this is how you explain away Trump’s treasonous action? Good for you. You deserve each other.
Ronin, you do make a little sense there; there’s no need to accept a loss now, just in case there’s a (one-in-a-million) chance there is some massive fraud big enough to divert tens of millions of votes to his opponent.
But this is being discussed only because TRUMP brought it up. HE made this one of the top issues for the past few weeks. Do you know why he made up the “rigged” theory???
Because he brought up this ridiculous theory, it forced his staff and top advisers to state on Trump’s behalf that “He will accept the results.” That is why he was asked that question at the debate.
Yes, it normally would be a ridiculous question to ask any candidate. But because Trump is “special,” and has a talent for bringing forth strange issues, he gets asked that question. Yes, ridiculous.
MillionMonkeys, what are the chances that massive voter fraud? California routinely issues driver licenses to illegal immigrants. Clinton Campaign Manager John Podesta says that if illegal immigrants show up on Election Day with driver licenses with a picture, attest that they are citizens when they are not, they have a right to vote in federal elections. Does that not subject the process to massive voter fraud? Yes, I know you will say I am making this up. This says I am not: http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016/10/wikileaks-podesta-says-ok-illegals-vote-drivers-licence/
What about voter fraud in Florida? The Florida Democratic Party has been pushing very hard to let people cast a ballot during early voting even if their registration application hasn’t been verified. Wouldn’t that make the process ripe for voter fraud? Fortunately, a federal judge thought so and rejected the Florida Democratic Party’s request.
Digest all that’s that have presented in the debates and what you have been able to ferret out on your own. Finally get out and vote! 🙂
This is the big story SA puts up? Not about answers to critical issues ?
The press is most definitely showing its bias and demonstrating exactly why we don’t trust the press!
Then why do you keep commenting here? You obviously support SA with a subscription.
The big story – the only story – is that Trump didn’t say that he would honor an election. No one is going to cover anything else he said.
Why? Because it’s a page from the Inouye playbook writ large. The local Dem bosses have a script they follow, with levels of pressure against those who oppose them, continually rising the pressure until the opponents break or get out of town. That’s how they stay in power for going on six decades. Look for the union label. Trump is saying the election is rigged so he is not going to be complicit. Mr K is saying in these comments that the statement itself is evidence of psychosis. It is actually evidence of a clever position designed to highlight that the results are rigged, i.e. pre-determined. Anyone you cannot criticize is controlling you. Get it, Mr K?
Yes, of course. With the name “mythman” I would expect that you would see a conspiracy in every closet. Elections in this country are decentralized by design and are overseen by 51 (plus territories) election officials from both parties. You know so little about “rigging” an election that it’s not worth the time to respond.
Good luck wearing your aluminum foil hat.
How are you so sure it’s a Mr.? Dare I say this sounds like a scorned woman. Maybe “she” lost the Miss Universe contest and has an axe to grind with the next President.
The fact that Hillary’s campaign paid individuals to cause violence at Trump rallies, especially the one cancelled n Chicago, is criminal. That disqualifies her as a candidate. Bernie should be allowed to run, He was unfairly treated, probably illegally as well, but not as overtly as the Democrats underhanded crimes against Trump.
You’re making that up of course.
Have you had any luck finding the previous Clinton lie you posted here? You know … when you wrote that Mrs. Clinton said that Republicans are more dangerous than ISIS? No?
Oh that’s right … you just made it up out of thin air!
Beware of Clinton trolls.
Hillary and her husband Bill are the heads of the Clinton Mafia. They are corrupt from head to toe and with the cooperation of Obama and the Democratic Party we now have corruption in the IRS, DOJ, and FBI.
The Clinton Foundation is a disgrace and also corrupt. Accepting donations from foreign countries who requested personal visits with Hillary when she was Secretary of State. Legal maybe, conflict of interest definitely.
Washington D.C. is corrupt and an outsider is sorely needed to clean up our government. Instead of serving the people, they are serving themselves.
Do you believe they are rigging the system?
Even if Washington is corrupt, trump is certainly not the person to clean it up. You want to talk about foundations? At least the clinton foundation does a lot of good around the world. Trump has used his foundation to pay off his personal debts and purchase portraits of himself. I would not be surprised if an investigation into his foundation is forthcoming.
Lock Him Up! LOCK HIM UP! LOCK HIM UP!
Skinut, you need to do a little research about the good done around the world by the Clinton Foundation. The long list of worthwhile causes funded by the Clinton Foundations may look impressive, but the amount of money granted by the Clinton Foundation was only 6% of donations to the Foundation. Most of the money donated went to pay the Clintons and their cronies employed by the Foundation and to support lots of first class air travel, luxury hotel accommodations and the best food and wine the donations could buy. http://thefederalist.com/2016/09/16/clinton-foundation-spent-6-percent-charitable-grants-2014/
And what about the scam called the Trump foundation? At least they aren’t banning Hillary’s foundation because of scams. You talk about Clinton but Trump and his foundation are no better.
Control, the Trump Foundation’s assets at the end of 2014 totaled $1.2 million dollars. Total assets of the Clinton Foundation at the end of 2013 were $274 million. There is no comparison between the two.
Pathetic to see a “tough guy” whine.
Yeah Obama is always looking for attention. Soon he will be history.
After serving eight years as President of the United States.
What have you done with your life? Good luck with that answer.
I survived the last eight years in spite of Obummer believe it or not.
What kuroiwaj cat got your tongue? Wouldn’t be the first time.so things are not as bad as you say it is. You are still here.
Yes- and history will be kind. One of the best presidents of the modern era- despite being opposed at every turn by a legion of obstructionists- most without the courage to even own up to their prejudice. Despite the disproportionately represented trolls in these comment pages- Obama is tremendously popular- with good reason- particularly in Hawai’i.
It’s a crying shame that the democrat party and it’s media lapdogs have strayed so far from their principles. Democrats once looked out for the little guy. Now we have the democrat nominee in bed with rich white bankers and business interests. The media once spoke truth to power. Now the media is doing it’s best to see that her opponent is destroyed in a smear campaign of epic proportions.
A kid who got his Daddy to give him a million dollars (today’s value would probably be about $5 mill) is someone we should be sorry for? Or maybe better feel sorry for all the other women he felt up but are just too ashamed to come forward?
How is Trump for the “little people”? The only person he’s ever looked out for is himself. It’s a choice between Crooked Hillary AND Crooked Donald. Pick your poison.
Well- Donald is reckless, dimwitted, and a sexual predator- so he’s got that going for him.
While Hillary is a clever liar and a professional polispeaker with a legion of ethics free smurfs at her command. Yep, quite a choice we have.
A smear campaign? The only smearing going on here has been with trump’s own words. Turns out he’s his own worst enemy.
“Now we have the democrat nominee in bed with rich white bankers and business interests.”
I have no words to describe how funny this comment this is. You just accused the “democrat nominee” of being in bed with the Republican nominee.
I’m not aware that Trump is a rich white banker. He is a rich businessman, just not the type that Waldo is cozy with.
When Hilliar loses she wont accept the results either. She will just blame the Russians.
Just another delusional Trump supporter that still thinks that Trump has a chance to win.
The coverage by the Staradvertiser is ridiculous. I am not a fan of either party but this representation is blowing out of proportion what was actually said. Of course he’s not going to say today that he will accept the results regardless …. seriously that is ridiculous. The Media has created the circus atmosphere of this entire political process. I intend to cancel my subscription
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. I heard that Trump is creating a Trump channel so you can listen to the garbage he is shoveling all the time.
Why doesn’t Hillary “ever” wear an american flag pin?
That’s what you think about? That means something to you? Good grief.
I believe I can answer that. It’s trendy and hip among progressives to be anti-american. They whine incessantly about the sins the country has committed. Sexism, racism, homophobia, islamophobia, the bill of rights you name the offense and and there’s a progressive who’s offended. The remedy for all of the offenses is ever larger ever more oppressive central government. Progressives love government but hate the country, it’s no more difficult than that.
I believe I clearly and concisely summarized the modern day American progressive. In the early 20th century they would have sympathized with Lenin and the the Bolsheviks and been known as “fellow travelers”.
Someone should have asked the Donald if he would agree to waive the confidentiality and penalty clause and agree to release the un-aired hot mic Apprentice comments that the participants are hinting at but stymied from releasing. Come-on Donald, man up!
Even if Trump loses, he’ll be fawned over by his basket of deplorables……suckers all!!!
Power to the People, stick it to the Man!
I don’t blame him. She has gotten away with “murder”. If the FBI can cover up her criminal acts, who knows how honest the election will be. If he finds the election was fair (unlike the media coverage), I’ll bet he accepts the results. Every American should be outraged that she is being allowed to run for president. As was brought up, others have done far less (emails, etc.) and received jail time. She sidestepped many of her answers and Wallace didn’t say anything. I would think it is great that a woman would be president. Not her though! I’m shocked she has such support. Trump is not an angel, but nothing has been revealed that makes him a criminal. Clintons emails are criminal and the FBI played politics and let it go.
How about being a pedophile? Trump goes into teen pageant dressing room without announcing himself to allow the kids to cover up, isn’t that a crime in the US. He gives the excuse that he is the head of the pageant but most people would be arrested if they did that. And what about being a sexual predator? If he wasn’t Trump he would have been arrested for what he did. As for Hillary, there is no proof on anything. He may accept the results of the election but he will whine and blame everyone else for losing but himself.
After November 8, we will have a loser and a loser for president! Whatever, we will be the biggest losers!
Clinton is crook, Trump is unqualified and Gore did not accept the election results. Get over it and make a decision. You either back a liar or back an ignoramus! And go!!!
It’s rigged via the media as they are truly pushing for Killery to win the election.
“The Republican National Committee immediately disavowed Trump’s statement.”
When your own party’s leadership starts backing away from you, you better have your Tokuhon Plaster handy because you’re headed for a beatdown.
“No puppet. You’re the puppet. No, you’re the puppet.” Haha. I wanted it to go further.
“Are too. You’re the puppet.” “No, I’m not. You are.” “Not. You are.” “Are too. Nanny-nanny-boo-boo.”
The Republicans rigged this election by not producing a quality candidate.
No, we did. From day one GOP leadership has disavowed Trump. If we need to chastise those responsible, look in the mirror, cause we’re the ones dumb enough to nominate the only candidate that Hillary could beat.
Unfortunately Trump is the master of the con game and he belittled, insulted and somehow conned the republican voters to select him instead of viable, realistic candidates. But the problem is the political process itself, many people are sick and tired of the old boy politics and saw Trump as an outsider that possibly could change the system. Also unfortunate that this guy has too many character flaws for a majority of Americans to even think of as president.
Let’s not lay this at the feet of republican voters alone, a significant amount of equally frustrated democrats switched over as well. From the get go, I considered Rand Paul the best choice, and, with the certainty of Hillary’s nomination evident long before the convention, really believed he’d be able to win. Why Kasich was rejected after Paul’s exit still mystifies me, but the undercurrent of political rejection remained too strong, and Trump plays an excellent violin..
I don’t think this will happen. Unless there’s legitimate grounds for a challenge, “not accepting” doesn’t make a difference. Plus, it’s not nationally run; it’s state by state. It’s unlikely he’d have grounds to challenge each state in which he lost. He probably doesn’t know that there are automatically provisions for things like a recount if the vote is too close. For ex, most people probably don’t know that in 2000 the state of New Mexico has a recount because the vote was close. It didn’t attract much attention because there were 5 electoral votes at stake, not enough to swing the election. We were all focused on Florida, whose electoral votes would determine the winner. And remember when the call went in Bush’s favor, Gore said in his statement that while he didn’t agree w/the Supreme Court’s decision, he did accept it. That was a big help in getting the country to move on.
Remember 2000 ?? AL Gore and even clinton DID NOT ACECPT THE RESULTS !! Double standard !
Well, without double standards, democrats would have no standards at all. Hillary’s flip flops mimic a landed trout..
I don’t remember Gore or Clinton coming out before the election saying they won’t accept the results. This guy is already giving excuses for losing the election. Plus wasn’t there some kind of “chad” problem in Florida during that election? If you look at the results you will find out that Gore won the popular vote for that election. Unfortunately the popular vote doesn’t count, electoral votes count.
I don’t recall either being asked as well. I have no issue with Trump’s comment, taken in the context he apparently meant, the resultant hullabaloo is political drivel. I doubt rampant fraud exists, and although it’s potential has been clearly demonstrated, Trump’s probable margin of defeat excludes it from consideration.
Hey Johnny. There is no double standard. It’s a different situation. Because Gore didn’t go around saying he wouldn’t accept the vote before the election had even happened. “How do you proclaim fraud before the incident takes place? It’s like my calling you a robber before you rob the bank,” said Al Cardenas, who was chairman of the Republican Party of Florida during the 2000 electoral recount. “In America, you call out a crime or malfeasance after it happens.” That was what Gore did, he challenged the result in Florida. And, as stated above, while he didn’t agree w/the decision of the S Ct., he said he accepted it, and that helped a great deal in getting the country to move on. And, at the same time, New Mexico automatically recounted the vote in their state because it was too close; states have provisions like that.
This question first came from mainstream media over a month ago. At first glance one would respond, “Yes, of course.” However, knowing the Clinton Machine, saying “Yes” would give them a way to decry any claim of voter fraud or ballot tampering later on — saying “You said you would accept the results.”
Because Donald Trump said “Iʻll tell you when I see the results,” Clinton operatives have to be careful. They cannot go out and rig automated balloting machines or make written ballots disappear, or send phony voters to the polls — because the threat of investigation and recounts LOOMS.
What Hillary is “horrified” about is that she cannot predict what Trump will do, and her ploys to paint him into a corner did not work (the Putin side-swipe failed too). I am sure she was not horrified at Al Gore when he questioned the results of the 2000 election. Was Al Gore asked to make a public pledge to accept the results? No. He took it all the way to the FL Supreme Court.
Trump did exactly what he should have in this situation.
Gore didn’t accept the results of the election because there were problems with the vote in florida. Remember the “chad” incident? Gore had valid reasons for not accepting the results and he did take it to the Fl supreme court. Trump has no valid reason for saying he won’t accept the election but he continues to give excuses why he lost the election, blaming everyone and everything but himself for this debacle called Trump.
Who the heck cares whether he accepts the results or not. Not surprising that Trump is a poor loser. Trump is already giving his excuses in case he loses, rigged/flawed election, media bias, republicans who don’t support him, etc. When he loses I expect him to give every excuse in the book to explain why he lost. Unfortunately he doesn’t place blame on the one person who caused his downfall, Donald Trump himself.
Did Hillary already state she would accept the election results? Not sure I understand why this is becoming the focus…
Probably because Trump continues to give excuses and was directly asked during the debate whether he would accept the results. That is why the focus on this issue.
Who cares , Donald?
For one Trump did not say he would not accept the results. Under the guise of being objective, the so called mainstream media has become the 12th man on the field for team Clinton.
Trump said he has 200 Generals. Who are they? Where are they? Are they kept on a ranch or in a storage facility?
