Hawaiian Airlines today unveiled a custom Disney’s “Moana”-themed aircraft at the Honolulu International Airport.

The Airbus A330 is the first of three custom aircrafts for the film which is set to release in theatres Nov. 23.

The design features four characters from the movie, the demigod Maui (voiced by Dwayne Johnson), Moana (voiced by Auli’i Cravalho), and her two friends Heihei the rooster and Pua the pig.

The planes will fly on Hawaiian Airlines’ regularly scheduled U.S. domestic routes including Brisbane, Sydney, Osaka, Tokyo, and Auckland through March 2017.

Hawaiian Airlines will also offer co-branded, limited-edition products such as blankets, towels and children’s and adult apparel.

“At Hawaiian Airlines, we are modern navigators, carrying guests across vast oceans to experience the unparalleled beauty of our home and richness of our culture,” said Peter Ingram, chief commercial officer for Hawaiian Airlines. “In important ways, Moana’s voyage of discovery parallels that of our guests’ own travel adventures, and we’re pleased to work with Disney to take this wonderful story to the skies.”

Fans can track the course of each “Moana”-themed plane in real time at HawaiianAirlines.com/Moana.

Huh? None of those cities is “domestic”. Nice reporting, Star-Advertiser…

Waiting for someone to be offended and wanting to sue or demanding the “art” be removed immediately.

Interisland travels: look for a few dollars more on your flights to help subsidize the cost of this paint job.

Will they paint a scale on the flights to and from Pago Pago?

Another way for HA to monetize every facet of the operation. Will I have to pay a premium for a Moana towel? Will passengers who are now participating in huge flying revenue generating commercials for HA see reduced fares? Do we really need to be Disneyland in the air?

About that Moana towel you asked about. It’s Disney, after all. You’ll pay 3 times the regular price of the towel to enrich Disney shareholders. Dear old Walt would be rolling in his grave had he known how insatiably greedy and money-hungry his beloved company would become after his death. Thoroughly disgusting. I refuse to feed that beast.

Big Deal !!!!!! Give me a break on the lame explanation about the art work on the plane.” Hawaiian Airlines are the modern navigators “etc??. Save these little fairly tale stories
for the movies and the make believe world. Perhaps the art should reflect Hawaiian Airline employee thieves stealing things from peoples luggage.
