Lex Brodie’s Tire Brake and Service Co. has been chosen by Tire Review as the top tire and auto repair shop in North America.
The Honolulu-based company was selected during a recent event in Nashville, Tenn. Lex Brodie’s beat finalists Dunn Tire, McMahon Tire Service and Bud’s Tire Pros.
The contest is for dealers of all sizes and types, and spotlights independent tire dealers that best epitomize the key attributes and values of a highly successful business and an ideal representative of the industry. Those attributes include customer service and retention, training and education, merchandising and promotion, professional standards and conduct, appearance, solid business management, community involvement, business growth, achievement and innovation.
The Top Shop award ceremony will be held Oct. 31 at the Tire Industry Honors event in Las Vegas.
Lex Brodie’s, which has five locations in Honolulu, was founded in 1961 by its namesake, Alexander “Lex” Brodie, a Kauai native who died in 2013 at the age of 98. Brodie was best known for his tire commercials ending with the catchphrase, “Thank you, very much.” He retired from the company in 1991.
The five Lex Brodie’s locations are in Honolulu, Kalihi, Pearlridge, Waipahu and Kaneohe. The business is owned by LBTC Holdings and operated by employee-owners David Sands, CEO and president; and Scott Williams, executive director of marketing, branding and communications.
