Obama describes Trump as insecure

ASSOCIATED PRESS

President Barack Obama, left, is welcomed on stage by Rep. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., right, to speak at the Stony Island Arts Bank during a fundraiser for Duckworth’s Senate campaign in Chicago, Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016.

CHICAGO >> President Barack Obama said Sunday that he’s having a hard time believing some of the rhetoric coming from the top of the Republican presidential ticket, saying that nominee Donald Trump has demeaned women, minorities and immigrants, mocked the disabled and insulted veterans.

“I don’t need to repeat it — there are children in the room,” he said to laughter. Obama then listed an array of groups that he said Trump has insulted during the course of the campaign. He didn’t directly address a video obtained by The Washington Post and NBC News that was made public Friday showing the Republican presidential nominee bragging about kissing, groping and trying to have sex with women.

“He’s insecure enough that he pumps himself up by putting other people down,” Obama said.

Obama spoke at a fundraiser for Rep. Tammy Duckworth, the candidate he hopes will win his old U.S. Senate seat. She is running against Republican Sen. Mark Kirk, the incumbent.

The Illinois Senate race represents one of the Democratic Party’s best hopes this November. Democrats need a net gain of four seats to secure the majority if Clinton wins the presidency, as her vice president would break a tie. The party needs to net five seats if Trump wins.

Kirk was among the most aggressive Republicans in criticizing Trump. He said in a tweet that Trump should drop out and the “GOP should engage rules for emergency replacement.”

Before winning election to the House, Duckworth served in the Obama administration as an assistant secretary at the Department of Veterans Affairs. She served in Iraq and lost her legs when her helicopter was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade. She spent the next year recovering at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington

“She’s a tough lady, but with a big heart,” Obama said.

“Democrats need a net gain of four seats to secure the majority if Clinton wins the presidency, as her vice president would break a tie. The party needs to net five seats if Trump wins.” As usual, this demands the members tow the party line no matter what it is. This is the insanity of the party system and it does not lead to good decisions. A handful of people make the decisions and then the lemmings must do what they are told even if it means jumping off a cliff.

The last 7 1/2 years have cost a ton of Democrats their jobs, leading to the biggest Republican majority in the House in ages and the control of the Senate. That’s why I find it so ironic that the administration says everything is fine with the economy, foreign policy, our image in the world, etc.,
even though the voters have obviously shown their displeasure by voting Democrats out of office.

      • wiliki says:

Nope… the Bush Great Recession cost a “ton of jobs”.

Really? Unemployment BEFORE the Dummycraps took over Congress in Dubz final 2 years dropped below 5%. After the Dummies took over, it jumped to over 10% How is that Dubz fault. The Democratic Playbook, Eff things up then blame someone else. Lie then call others liars.

The worst thing about party politics is that a bunch of respectable Republicans have to align themselves with the GOP nominee for the presidential race (that Trump fellow). I’m sure they all have been suffering from indigestion. And heartache, as they were hoping he performed so badly at the 2nd debate that he would have to drop out.

Sorry, GOP, you couldn’t come up with a better nominee than Orange Donald? Enjoy your leader!!!

This is a perfect example of why we need more than one newspaper it is a shame that the SA is so biased and controlled by the DEMS. There is so much controversy on the other side of the ticket but you never read about here and if you do it might be one line, don’t you think the public has a right to no. All I am asking is for equal press coverage for both.

    • meat says:

Will NEVER happen. The MSM are Democratic puppets. Their job is to deceive, spin, edit and cover-up for the Democrats. And with the MAJORITY of the people taking in 2 minutes of Political news every 2 days total, leads to the “stupidity of the American voters” as John Gruber, Obamas Health Plan architect, said is who the Democrats can count on to win.

Yeah! Where’s the StarAdvertiser Fact Check on the Debate last night. Hillary WAS the Secretary of State when Obama drew his silly line in the sand. Hillay =’s LIES LIES LIES

    • wiliki says:

The press has been just as biased against Clinton. They’re more concerned about her email than her platform. Also whether she has the stamina to be president. What a silly question to ask?

      • meat says:

Just as biased? 5 of the 7 current SA headlines are anti-Trump. O for Hillary. With all her baggage? Riiighhhttt.

        • MillionMonkeys says:

That’s because 6 out of 7 things that come out of Trump’s mouth is either wrong or offensive or both. And you can fact-check that!!!

        • 64hoo says:

and all that stiff that’s comes out of the female felons mouth is 10 out of 10 things that she has done to ruin this country and as president you can kiss America and its freedoms goodbye.

All you construction workers in Hawaii! A vote for Hillary is giving consent to open borders. Those people allowed in will be competing for your jobs. Then you will either be unemployed or working much harder for less wages because of the fear that a non American will take your job away. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the mainland.
All of you white collar workers, especially accountants. Did you know that the TPP that Hillary supports will take your jobs away? Look it up if you don’t believe me. The TPP states that accountants can be brought in with no special licensing. The TPP is an attempt to remove the white collar jobs from the Americans, because politicians like Hillary are internationalists.
If you want to be unemployed, vote for Hillary. Especially when Clinton killed middle class jobs due to his support of NAFTA

100% spot on. Even lawyers are getting outsourced due to the double-standard rules by the American Bar Associations extremely lax requirements for foreigners and illegals to practice US law!!! There are some jobs that should be outsourced, we should start by outsourcing 90% of the inept government workers. If I’m going to pay for sheer incompetence and sheer inefficient government programs I want to hire cheaper inept government workers from overseas.

    • wiliki says:

Baloney employment has increased under both the Clinton and Obama administrations.

      • wn says:

Just wondering…how many are government jobs?

      • dragoninwater says:

How many have been decent paying middle-class jobs and I’m not talking about minimum wage jobs? Secondly, when you have a Fed that dug a six foot ditch with zero percent interest rates just to keep the zombie economy alive during Kool-Aid’s presidency, when do you expect the reaper to come in and collect the money owed?
