Volunteers help clear coral rocks from the shoreline at Ala Moana Beach Park

About 100 volunteers helped with Saturday’s cleanup at Ala Moana Beach Park. Their task, above, involved clearing out coral rocks that had been exposed by erosion and created hazards for beachgoers.

Members of the Hawaii Titans Fastpitch softball organization joined dozens of volunteers Saturday to help clean up Ala Moana Beach Park. Young athletes, from right, Allyze Pagaoa, Shyloh Morgan, Ka‘ina Guerrero, Kylia Monamine, Christen Horita, Haylee Cathcart, Toots Park and Jacie Hayata-Ano formed a line to gather coral rocks.
