UH soccer gets first Big West win of season
Addie Steiner scored buzzer-beating goals to end both halves and the Hawaii soccer team ended a 10-game conference losing streak with a 2-0 decision over UC Riverside tonight at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
UH (8-3-1, 1-2 Big West) responded to two league losses on the road last week with a much-needed victory to open a four-game homestand.
Steiner scored on a give from Tia Furuta with two seconds left in the first half and put one in within the final minute of the game on a feed from Sarah Lau, giving her a team-high seven goals on the season.
Goalkeeper Monk Berger recorded her fifth solo shutout of the season. UH hosts UC Davis (5-5-3, 1-0-1) at 5 p.m. Sunday.
