Wallace Chow, director general of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Honolulu, left, and his wife, Samantha, talked with erhu virtuoso Tsun-Hui Hung and Hoku Award-winning slack key guitarist Jeff Peterson after they performed at a reception celebrating National Day Monday at the Pacific Club. The duo’s set included “Pua Lililehua” and was the first time a Hawaiian song was played using erhu, a two-stringed Chinese instrument, and slack key in a public performance in Hawaii.
